Hands on DC is successful because of the dedication of thousands of volunteers from across the area. Since 1994, more than 30,000 community members have had a great time spending a day volunteering with other energetic, committed people in order to make a difference in the lives of local students. They've also raised more than $700,000 for scholarships for deserving students.
Our volunteers come from across the community. We engage volunteers from major corporations, local schools, church groups, civic and social organizations, college alumni clubs, youth groups, and government agencies. We hope you'll join us in planning our next event or participating on the day of the event. Use the links at left to navigate.

Help plan and manage Hands on DC events!
We are looking for new Site Coordinators (SCs) for our 2015 events. Each SC is responsible for the projects at one school on the day of the event and managing volunteers assigned to their school in completing work-a-thon projects. Hands on DC provides training and all the supplies needed for the school. The SC will be expected to make at least one visit to their school prior to the event to familiarize themselves with the various projects and meet the school’s points of contact for the event. If you are interested in learning more about becoming an SC, please reach out to Kristen at firstname.lastname@example.org.
