Hands on DC organizes and hosts private beautification events for corporate, non-profit, and community group sponsors. We can accommodate groups of 15 to 100 people. While we prefer Saturday events, weekday events are feasible during summer school break.

Our experience organizing and running events means we know how to create events that deliver impactful results for schools and lasting, positive experiences for our sponsor’s and their volunteers.

Hands on DC’s Role

Hands on DC identifies schools with beautification needs and selects beautification projects to fit within a sponsor’s desired event day schedule. Our private beautification events typically consist of painting, landscaping, cleaning and organization, and mural projects.

Hands on DC takes care of all project and supply logistics for events — so volunteers can focus on the fun and rewarding experience of serving our local schools.

The Sponsor’s Role

The Sponsor’s two primary responsibilities are to recruite volunteers and ensure volunteers have transportation to the school. In preparation for the event, we ask for a sponsor leader to participate in a few planning calls.

For corporate donors, Hands on DC requests a donation of $65–75 per person depending on group size. Reduced rates are available for non-profits and community groups. The donations covers supplies, as well as additional logistics and operational costs. Hands on DC is an all-volunteer nonprofit organization, which allows us to keep our operating costs very low. Any proceeds from sponsored events go back to serving our mission and funding our public events.
